8Bit Insights LLC (“8Bit Insights” or “Company”) understands the importance of privacy and has established a Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to govern data collection and usage, and ensure that we communicate, collect, and treat personal information securely and appropriately. For the purposes of this privacy policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to the Company include the company’s website, 8bitinsights.com. By using the Company website, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access our services.

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. Automatically Collected Information
The Company may automatically collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the Company’s website.

Social Media Widgets
8Bit Insight’s blog sites may include Social Media Widgets, such as the ‘Share This’ button or interactive mini programs that run on the Company sites. These widgets may collect a user’s IP address, which page(s) visited on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the widget to function properly. Social Media Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on the Company sites. A user’s interactions with these widgets are governed by the privacy policy of the specific company providing them.

Website Cookies
Deploying cookies avoids users having to re-enter information once it’s been entered in a website form and provides the Company links and pages that have been clicked or viewed during a user’s site visit. If a user provides personal data via a website form, 8Bit Insights may associate this personal data with a new or existing record in the Company’s database to identify what is most relevant to the user and tailor any future messaging (if consent is received from user).

Right to Deletion
Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:

We may store your data on servers provided by third-party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.

Fair Information Practices
The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:
  • We will notify the users via email
  • Within 7 business days, we will notify the users via in-site notification
  • Within 7 business days, we also agree to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.
This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or a government agency to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, this Policy shall be instituted exclusively in the federal or state courts located closest to Grand Traverse County, Michigan. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and the venue in such courts.
